All of our dahlia tubers are field-grown right here at Sleepy Dog Dahlia Farm. We take great care to inspect each tuber multiple times to ensure it is in good condition and has at least one viable eye (the bud where the plant will sprout) before shipping. Please note that tubers come in various sizes and shapes—even small tubers can grow into lush, stunning plants!

Guarantee:
We guarantee that all tubers shipped from our farm will have at least one viable eye and be in good condition for planting. If you have concerns about the viability of a tuber, contact us within seven days of receipt with a photo and description of the issue. If deemed defective, we will provide a replacement or offer a refund if a replacement is unavailable.

Dormancy Note:
Dahlia tubers may still be dormant when they arrive. Allow time for the eye to become noticeable.

Accurate Descriptions:
We describe each dahlia’s color, bloom style, size and height to the best of our ability. Be aware that environmental factors such as sunlight and soil conditions may affect bloom color.

Crop Failures:
In the rare event of a crop failure, we will notify you and offer a full refund or substitution before shipment.

Timing:
Tubers will be shipped in late April or early May, once the risk of extreme cold has passed.

Packaging:
Tubers are packed in a paper bag with vermiculite to maintain optimal conditions. Upon arrival, store them in a cool, dry place and leave the bag slightly open to prevent excess moisture.

Method:
Orders will be shipped via the US Postal Service, typically arriving within three to five days of sending. We do not ship outside the United States.

• 1 - 4 Tubers $11
• 5 - 15 Tubers $15
• 16 - 25 Tubers $20
• 26+ Tubers $25

Unforeseen Delays:
Shipping dates are approximate and subject to weather or other unexpected events.

We are not responsible for loss due to improper storage after delivery. Please ensure tubers do not freeze and avoid storing them in sealed containers. Proper storage ensures your tubers remain healthy until planting.

• Products are not reserved until checkout is complete. High-demand tubers may sell out quickly.
• Payment must be made in full before orders are processed and shipped.

We prioritize the health of our dahlia crops by employing rigorous quality-control measures:

• Sanitizing tools and equipment.
• Monitoring plant health and removing any suspicious plants.
• Follow the “If in doubt, throw it out” method.

We cannot guarantee every plant is completely virus-free, as many plants can harbor one or more viruses without displaying symptoms. We do
not have the capacity to test every plant in our field however we continue to mitigate this risk by following American Dahlia Society’s guidelines.
